Live Events And A Short Break!

Posted in Champions Online, EQ2, Random Musings on November 27, 2009 by Caladwen

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of good food! If you haven’t checked out the EQ2 5th anniversary events, it’s worthwhile to do so. You can get a lovely painting of Venekor (he looks a little menacing!) and a Qeynos claymore replica by completing some quests. And you get a tapestry by completing a collection quest. I found purple shinies all over N Qeynos and S Qeynos, not sure if they spawn in any other locations. There are also a couple of other quests for fireworks and food (They are repeatable with a 1 hour cool-down). For good-aligned, all quests start in N Qeynos.

Also, Champions Online is going to be free this weekend. Too bad I’m going to be busy. So if you missed it last time, this is your chance.

I am going to be taking a short break from EQ2 and expect to be back right after Christmas. I might log on now and then if possible, but won’t have too much time so I most likely won’t make any posts till I’m back. Going to be busy with RL for a bit :) . I’m going to miss all my EQ2 friends and reading all your blogs, but I’ll be back soon! Have a wonderful weekend and safe travels all!

Lots Of Crafting!

Posted in EQ2, Random Musings on November 20, 2009 by Caladwen

I haven’t been upto anything too exciting in Norrath other than some crafting! Leveling a woodworker and working on some Far Seas faction. Too bad the Far Seas faction recipe books are no-trade, now I have to work on faction for all my crafters. The only crafter who is even close to 40 K faction is my sage and this is because I leveled her crafting to 80 by going to the tradeskill instances regularly. This leaves several others to work on. Maybe I can buy the sage a unicorn soon. :)

In my quest to get my woodworker to 50, I worked on the Sootfoot quest series in Lavastorm. But her harvesting skills aren’t high enough to continue, so have to work on increasing those harvesting skills and then come back to it. It was good AA as well, she happens to be a level 45 coercer/46 woodworker. Of course, another one of my alts. Level 45 adventurer is a good level for Lavastorm and guess who made an appearance – the Fire Toad of course, who was kind enough to drop an exquisite chest!

Rohawn and I started on the daily tradeskill mission and we plan to finish up Friday evening. Kastle couldn’t join us due to computer issues. What’s up with everyone having computer issues lately? Keocia’s computer is broken as well. Hope both of them get their computers fixed soon!

I am also glad I got the Cisco re-cert out of the way by passing one test. Woot! No more studying for a couple of months at least. It would not have been fun to take 4 tests all over to get that certification again.

Have an awesome weekend and safe travels all!

A Few Hours Of Champions Online

Posted in Champions Online, EQ2, Random Musings on November 13, 2009 by Caladwen

It has been a while since I posted. Been trying to study for a Cisco re-cert and haven’t logged onto EQ2 all week, not even to check the broker! Not that I spent all that time studying… but I’ve been trying. Hopefully I can get over with this test soon and get back to gaming.

I did get a chance to check out Champions Online when they did the free Halloween weekend. The character customization is simply awesome! Gameplay was alright, but I tend to get bored easily. Glad to say that I’m not bored with EQ2 after a couple of years! There’s just so much more to do in EQ2 other than just questing and destroying evil. Back to Champions Online, there are lots and lots of options on how you can customize your character. How would you want to hide your secret identity? Glasses, masks or goth makeup? I honestly can’t say too much about the gameplay, as I spent more time creating my superhero than playing the game :) . From what I did see, it was talking to various NPCs and finishing up quests (the usual). These are just my opinions from spending a few hours on Champions Online. Maybe if I had played longer, I’d have a different view on it…

I’ll have to find some time to sneak into Norrath this weekend. Have a great weekend and safe travels all!

Weekend Plans!

Posted in EQ2, Random Musings on September 18, 2009 by Caladwen

It has been a crazy couple of weeks, so I’m glad that the weekend is finally here. I did get to go to a U2 concert last weekend, which was truly magnificent! Last minute tickets FTW!

I haven’t done anything too much fun in EQ2 other than checking the broker, chatting with some friends and leveling my tinkerer some (It seems sloooow!). Transmuting seemed to be quicker for some reason. Broker sales were not too bad, made about 20 plat selling mostly shinys and I immediately spent the plat on a paladin master :) . My plan for the weekend is to level my wizard, who is currently 71. And just maybe, she’ll pick up some statues of Marr knights and dragon language runes along the way. I do mean to complete those two questlines someday!

For those of you who use Station Cash, this weekend is supposed to be “Double Station Cash Weekend”. If you purchase a Free Realms station cash card at a retail location and redeem it this weekend, you get double station cash. Sounds like a good deal for those who are looking to transfer servers or buy items!

Have an awesome weekend and safe travels all!

“Hang With Me In My MMO”

Posted in EQ2, Random Musings on August 18, 2009 by Caladwen

Hope everyone had a good weekend :) . I had a quiet weekend for a change and did log onto EQ2 Friday night. Keocia, Rohawn and Talduke were on so I asked if they wanted to head to Mistmyr Manor. Having never ventured into this zone before, I figured it would be fun to explore a new zone, get some AA and also get the update for “The White Dragonscale Cloak” HQ. Keocia got a couple of her guildmates to come along and we headed to Evernight Abbey first. Talduke got busy but did join us for Mistmyr Manor. The group consisted of 3 paladins ;) . We didn’t have too much trouble clearing the zone. Mistmyr Manor was slightly tougher but we still completed the zone. Only one more update to go to complete the HQ.

Both zones were fun to explore. And lots of quests to be completed with legendary rewards. Lord Thex in Evernight Abbey was an interesting encounter with picking up the abilities and watching out for the sun. This was my favorite encounter out of both the zones.

More than anything, it was definitely great to catch up with friends as I hadn’t seen them in a while. I miss them for sure and look forward to more fun times when I’m able to log on more often. And now, about the title of the post – check out this video. It’s awesome! Have a good week ahead and safe travels all!

A Short Break And Enchanted Grottos!

Posted in EQ2, Random Musings on July 24, 2009 by Caladwen

Happy Friday everyone! I apologize for the lack of recent posts, been crazy busy with work and RL stuff. I am still around though! I haven’t been on EQ2 too much, so haven’t had too much to talk about. Things should be back to normal in about a month or so, have family and friends visiting and a whole lot of other things going on. All good stuff! I do log on now and then, just don’t spend as much time in-game as I usually do :) . I’m going to make a weekly post at least until things settle down.

I missed out on the enchanted grottos last month, so I was pretty excited to partake in the events earlier this week. I did manage to run a few alts through at least to grab the purple shinies. Caladwen did manage to complete all the quests and got a decent chunk of AA. There are definitely some interesting house items that can be bought with the tokens. I still haven’t picked up anything yet, since my house is such a mess and I haven’t decided what to do with it yet. I don’t want the sleeping dragons to suddenly wake up and mistake the poor fawn plushie for a snack!

Also, Tinkerfest will be live from 00:01 July 24th till 11:59 August 3rd PDT. Woot! Have a great weekend and happy tinkering all!

Funny Stuff!

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to everyone for visiting my blog and all the incoming links. /Hugs

I wasn’t feeling too well yesterday, just fever and a cold – I blame the weather changes! So all I did on EQ2 was log on and check the broker, nothing else at all sadly. I pretty much moped on the couch and watched old Star Trek stuff, still a good way to spend an evening even if it didn’t involve any gaming ;) .

I am in no way affiliated with the following website, but I thought I’d share it with everyone. Just because I find it really funny! So, in case you haven’t checked it out before and have some free time, it’s good for some laughs especially if you are a gamer.

Don’t we all need a guild leader like Vork? ;)

Instance Fun

Posted in EQ2, Random Musings on May 12, 2009 by Caladwen

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and Mother’s day! I got to watch the new Star Trek movie over the weekend and I think it’s awesome!

Back to gaming, it has mainly been instance runs lately. I went to Deep Forge and Scion over the weekend and back to Deep Forge last night. It’s interesting how every time I go to Deep Forge (it has always been with different people), everyone has different strategies to kill the hammer guy! And this was the first time I had actually been to Scion – I’m way behind! It was a fun zone. I don’t group all that much, so there is a lot of content yet to be seen. Other than instances… the raid alliance was headed to VP on Saturday night to take down a couple of nameds and I was assigned to clicking a statue on the Druushk fight. Fun times!

I didn’t get to spend too much time on alts, but it was the Hot Zone weekend. So I took a lower level alt to Nek Forest for a couple of hours. I decided to work on some Bloodline Chronicles quests. These quests are great AA since there are quite a few named mobs in the instances, even for a level 80 mentored down. So if you haven’t done them, find someone to mentor ;) .

Safe travels all!
